Putting Our Residents First

Throughout Lynne’s time on the board, meeting the everyday needs of the Village residents has been a priority.  She understands that walkable sidewalks, well paved roads and working sewer systems are important and affect the day to day life of every resident.  She knows that in a resident’s greatest time of need, emergency response is a matter of life or death.  She has helped ensure that our fire department is well equipped to keep our community safe.  She has supported the staffing and equipment needs of our DPW to make sure that they can best support our village needs.  She has sat in on planning and update meetings regarding our sewers and our roads, working to solve problems today and prevent them in the future.

Grant Funding

Lynne has worked hard as the first chairperson of the newly established Grants Committee. While the Village has been extremely successful at being awarded grant dollars, it is continuous work to oversee the administration of the grants, while applying for the next ones. Through this committee she has encouraged the board to hire a Grants Manager to help with grant applications and grant administration. During her term, she is proud to have been a part of bringing in over $9 million dollars of county, state and federal grant dollars back into the Village of Lancaster. Grant funding has been widespread and have helped ease the financial burden of Village sewer projects and firehall equipment costs. The grant dollars have also helped with economic development projects and planning grants for the future.

Communication

Communication is a priority for Lynne. She wants our residents to be able to easily access information about the Village and worked to start the Lancaster Villager, a newsletter that informs the community about what is happening in Village government.  Information is available on the Village of Lancaster website www.lancastervillage.org. She has also worked to create a social media presence in the Village. Follow the Village of Lancaster on Facebook at @VillageofLancasterNY, Instagram at @lancastervillageny and Twitter at @LancasterVill.

Small Business

As the Director of Economic Development and the chairperson of the Economic Development committee, Lynne has worked with small business owners and developers to help their vision fit into our community.  Since her start as a trustee for the Village, she has been excited to help welcome over a dozen new businesses into the Village of Lancaster.  She is amazed at the creativity, the determination and the ingenuity that she sees on an everyday basis from our business owners.  She works with them so that they are able to offer their best services to their customers.

Economic Development

Throughout Lynne’s time working on behalf of the Village, she has been a part of the committee to create the Joint Comprehensive Plan for the Village of Lancaster, Town of Lancaster and Village of Depew.  She continues to serve on the Comprehensive Plan Oversight committee, to ensure that the municipalities are following the plan that was approved.  This plan is a representation of the goals of the community, created through the input of the residents of this community.  It is the guiding document that is used as the Village of Lancaster continues to grow.

Environment

There are so many beautiful environmental treasures in our community and Lynne hopes that they remain for generations to come. She is proud to have established the Climate Smart Task Force and is the chairperson of the Climate Smart committee. The committee has overseen the Extreme Weather Vulnerability study and is also making sure that the plans for development in the Village are seen by the climate smart experts on the task force. An overarching goal of the Climate Smart Committee is to earn the Climate Smart Certification awarded by New York State.
